Boron Carbide Insert BCI-6

Description

Boron Carbide Insert BCI-6,  3/8″ straight BORE. 

Insert BCI-6, is made from boron  carbide. these wear resistant nozzles are used in cabinet or work shop style blast cleaning applications.   Boron carbide inserts can be used with more aggressive abrasives like aluminum oxide. We recommend using Boron carbide nozzles or inserts when blast cleaning with aluminum oxide or similar abrasives. These inserts are held in a syphon gun that is part of a syphon or pressure blasting system.   insert bci-6  insert has a 3/8″ straight bore.  The tungsten carbide equivalent of the BCI-6 is our TCI-6.

Good Nozzle Practice:

Since these liners can extend beyond the barrel of some blast cleaning guns, they are exposed to impact. If you are blast cleaning in an application where the liner are subjected to impact, there are 2 options available: (1) Take care not to impact the Boron carbide liner or (2) use a tungsten carbide liner only. Reason: Boron carbide is a brittle material and will break when impacted. If the gun you are using allows liner to be completely inserted into barrel then it should be OK to use a boron carbide liner.

Alternative wide Spray:

for wide spray insert look at our BCI-62W.  Wide exit inserts have a wider blast pattern that covers more surface area than a standard straight bore insert.

Alternative larger Bore:

For a larger bore take a look at our BCI -7  which has a 7/16″ straight bore.
