THREAD CONVERTER TA-34114, FOR CONVERTING NOZZLES WITH 3/4″ fine tHREADs TO FIT NOZZLE HOLDERS WITH 1-1/4″ female fine threads. this is a thread converter only. When converting to 1-1/4″ threads to fit into a 1-1/4″ nozzle holder you will want to consider using our tungsten carbide lined thread converter. this adapter TA-cb2-114 will reduce abrasive flow down from hose i.d. to the 3/4″ threaded nozzle’s entrance size, which is usually less than 1/2″.

Know your compressors CFM rating and match it with suitable nozzle bore size. For all nozzles whether using the thread converter TA34114 or not.

To optimize performance of your blast cleaning system find your compressor’s air output. Next you need to look at available air to select best nozzle bore size e to maximize blast cleaning productivity. Most efficient blast cleaning systems will need sufficient compressed air to supply continually at least 95 to 100 PSI at  blast cleaning nozzle. There are situations where less forceful blast cleaning may be needed using softer abrasives, under these circumstances, a lower nozzle psi might be acceptable.

Effect of a worn nozzle on blast cleaning performance and productivity:

Nozzles are considered worn if a nozzle’s bore size exceeds the original (new) nozzle bore size by 1/16″.  A worn nozzle will lead to Blast cleaning pressure drop, resulting in loss of impact velocity and poor surface cleaning performance. To maintain nozzle pressure the compressor will need to supply more air .  Boosting air output to compensate for a worn nozzle is an expensive solution and can lead to a drop in productivity. Always change the sandblasting nozzle when it has worn over 1/16″.  The bore of a nozzle can be checked using a bore gauge.
