Blast cleaning nozzles are used for wet blasting and dry blast cleaning for rust removal, peening, grafitti removal, concrete texturing and finishing.  Carbide liner material offers wear resistance when blasting with abrasives. Some abrasives are very aggressive and need a blast cleaning nozzle with a liner that can hold up against wear.  One of the best materials to use in these applications is Boron carbide. We also offer a range of light duty, ceramic alumina inserts as replacement parts for use in syphon or direct pressure blasting systems. Ceramic nozzles offer lowest cost for a wear resistant nozzle but theyneed to be replaced often. To save cost and down time you might want to consider upgrading your  ceramic tips to  tungsten carbide.  Tungsen carbide tips are  higher priced but they give a longer wear life, in the region of 10 to 20 times the life of a ceramic nozzle (depending on abrasive used). Carbide nozzles offer wear resistance in applications where abrasives are being used to etch, clean and/or prepare surfaces for further treatment. Carbides vary in wear life from short life ceramics to rugged tungsten carbide to light weight Silcon Carbide and Boron carbide.  There are always trade offs when selecting a nozzle. Cost, wear and type of site use are all factors to consider. If you want higher productivity through longer life and superior performance then you should be looking at a high performance blast cleaning nozzle e.g. XLBC boron carbide blast cleaning nozzles.
